Apalachicola Bluffs and Ravines Preserve

These images are from the Apalachicola Bluffs and Ravines preserve. This preserve is owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy in Florida’s panhandle. I was on assignment shooting for several days for TNC, and had a great time. I am often accompanied by preserve scientists, land managers and biologists. Having these knowledgeable people leading the way and knowing the landscape is priceless. I always like to do my homework before an assignment, but having somebody that knows where you need to be, sure makes a shoot go smoothly. The plan was to capture the many different habitats that encompass the preserve. These images show longleaf pine/wiregrass uplands, steephead ravines, streams, sandhill habitat, and a seepage stream. This is a truly beautiful area of Florida, and if you get a chance, stop by and take a hike!
